The Basics

I grew up in Lexington, KY. I went to Cassidy Elementary School, Morton Middle School, and Henry Clay High School (Class of 1999). I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Kentucky with departmental honors in the Spring of 2004 with a B.B.A in Finance and a B.S. in Accounting. After graduating UK in December 2003, I spent Spring 2004 "studying" in Twickenham, England at St. Mary's Academy and loafed around Summer 2004 in Hilton Head Island working at the Crazy Crab (in Harbour Town). I am currently attending business school at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and working at J.P. Morgan after I graduate.

Work

J.P. Morgan: I interned in J.P. Morgan's investment banking division as a Summer Associate during the summer of 2010 and will be returning to J.P. Morgan full-time as an Associate in July 2011.

Stalla: I am currently teaching Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 CFA classes for Stalla in Chicago.

PwC: Before attending business school I worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers for five years. My last position with the firm was as an Advisory Risk Manager in New York City. I started working for PwC in Atlanta, GA in the Financial Services sector of the Assurance practice in August 2004. After one year in audit, I transferred to PwC's Investment Advisory Group (which was technically part of the PFS group in the Tax practice) in August 2005 and worked in the IAG group for two years until it was sold in July 2007. Then I decided to move to NYC in August 2007 and transferred to the Financial Services Risk Advisory practice.

During my second year with PwC, I developed a non-statistical sampling application that ended up being accepted internationally and used on almost all PwC audit engagements for FY2006, FY2007, FY2008, & FY2009. Due to "supporting the firm's strategic priorities," I managed to pick up a 2006 National Chairman's Award which got my picture up in Times Square and mentioned in PwC's 2006 Global Annual Review (pgs 34 & 35).

Designations:

Certified Public Accountant (CPA), licensed in the state of Georgia, awarded in 2007 / Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), awarded in 2008 / Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), awarded in 2006.
